Sometimes you get an idea stuck in your head and can’t get it out until you try it. First of all, shout out to okbaddiek on instagram (alt) for this incredible idea (I think she sells/used to sell custom panty bags herself if you want to buy one). Me, though? I saw her post and immediately Jimmy Neutron brain blasted to the exact pair of panties I had worn exactly one (1) time that were at that moment in my drawer. The pair of panties that ruined my August of 2024 due to the fact that (TMI btw) they gave me such a horrible front wedgie that I ended up with a UTI so bad I was convinced I was dying (only a slight exaggeration).
Second shout out to my friend Kes who donated the dollar for comedy reasons.

Construction notes: I created a pattern for the pink linen shell based on the pair I was using. I added seam allowance, sewed up all the sides by machine and decided to hand sew in the zipper to get the perfect fit. Shockingly I just happened to have the perfect color zipper to match the scrap fabric that almost perfectly matched the panties. Since the outside leg seams would be visible on the sides, I decided I didn’t care about having the raw edges inside since it wouldn’t be a very frequently used bag. I also added some small D rings I harvested from an old phone case to either side of the zipper so I could attach a clip-on purse strap that I borrowed from another purse. However, I did add a credit card/ID pocket to the lining which I highly recommend for anyone making their own bag. I’m always so paranoid about reaching into my bag during a dark show or whatever and accidentally dropping my cards or money on the ground (a thing I may have done before).
Side note: I can just barely fit my cell phone in this bag. Something to remember if you ever try to replicate this project and own a smaller size panty that may or may not fit a phone inside.
Once the inner shell was done, I hand tacked the panty to the outside. The way that I did it, there was no way to use a sewing machine for this part. And with my arm injury (sad/angry blog post incoming), it definitely took a lot out of me and I had to take a long healing break. I was offered some money to make one for a friend during my debut of this purse, but at this point this is a unique and bespoke object that may never be recreated (by me). One thing I would love to change about it, though, is the lack of proper interfacing. I thought my fabric was sturdy enough, but it’s an object that needs a structure for recognizability. I made an insert after the fact that is kind of annoying to work around, but it does the job. It definitely needs an internal structure, maybe even just straight up cardboard to keep that rigid shape.
Thank you for coming to my blog post. If you make this thing using my vague walkthrough, please let me know how many beautiful women compliment you and your super cool accessory. And also drop any questions in the comments and I will attempt to answer them.
