As I said in my holiday inspo post, I love to make collages to center myself and my creativity. It’s a great way to keep focused and deter myself from spending so much time on a garment that I never wear.
Some highlights and thoughts:
* I made this quilted jacket last year, still want to make a whole post just to document the labor involved in these bad boys and advice and sources I used. I wanted to give up on that thing soooo many times. [edit: blog post has been made]
* My lips bag is featured because I need more outfits that it works with. A really good idea if you are making your own inspo collage is to add pieces that you already own and want to feature in your life more. It’s a good visual reminder so you don’t forget your color palette or shapes you need to work with.
* Spaghetti Western Sewing is featured on here three times because I discovered them right before making this collage. Kind of silly, but I’ve already made the headscarf and a dress very similar to theirs and I have a gingham to recover from yet another project to turn into the skirt.
* There’s a whole corner dedicated to knit tops and dresses, which is definitely something I’d like to either make or buy. I adore the barbie top by gertie and have already made it three different times. But I do want more and was toying with the idea of lengthening it into a dress.
* Lastly, I love wool skirts in the winter. Need more, need to fix up more, have many ideas. We’re moving to Michigan next year if all goes to plan and I need more warm and cute layers. I mean, it already gets pretty cold in Indy, but we’re just heading further and further north and I don’t know if I’m ready to be a northerner yet.
I’m realizing now there are no pants in my collage, but there probably should be. Or maybe this just means I need to wear less pants and more wool tights, idk.
